It's been a while. I wanted to talk/type/post about one of my FAVE band/singer. NEVERSHOUTNEVER! He is amazing. His first EP was The Yippee EP, then there was Me and My Uke, and then finally The Summer EP. All of these are amazing. The Yippee has one of his really good songs Bigcitydreams. Which is about a guy and his girl is tired and bored. Tired of bored of this small town that they live in. She wants to go out of this small, pathetic town and make a name for herself. But the guy that she's with is affected by this greatly and she can't seem to realize that. In this song he is playing the guitar and there's a staccato tune that is quite possibly a piano (I'm not really sure...) which is in the background of the whole song. That little staccato part makes me get this warm funny feeling inside. It's a good warm, funny feeling. It's one that I get when I stumble across an artist like nevershoutnever! Another one of my faves from this EP is Dare4Distance (yes it's spelled with a 4, I wasn't being lazy... promise). It's about a long distance relationship between the singer and his girl. His voice is so tender in this song. It makes me speechless. He puts so much emotion in the song. The guitar isn't too too amazing but the lyrics are just great. One of my favorites from Me and my Uke is Did It Hurt? It is an amazing song about admiration. This guy finds a chick that is finally right. So he asks (in the song) "Did it hurt when you fell from heaven?/Did it hurt just to know I was right here awaiting?/Did you know, did you know it was love from the first time we touched?" I think that first line is so happy. Did it hurt when you fell from heaven, makes me tingly inside. He is describing someone as perfect. But instead of say "You are so perfect" or something like that he says that first line. Then in the background he is playing the ukulele so gracefully. The tune is so nice, floaty, fluffy. Like clouds, which is so happy. Then his falsetto(ish) voice ties in and makes the song so amazing. It makes me melt but in a good and happy way. One of his most popular is Trouble. About a guy who really likes this girl but she's not too in to him. So now he's in trouble because it's going to be impossible to get what he wants for himself. The ukulele in this song isn't perfect. It's troublesome, like the song. It's not one of his fluffy, happy songs. It's one of those songs that are scary. Not literally jump-out-of-my-seat scary, but one of those middle school drama situations scary. That type of scary. Definitely. His voice sounds bittersweet. The sweet part is that this girl makes him smile... but the bitter part is that this girl doesn't like him. Finally there's The Summer EP. This EP is different. His style has changed, not for the better, but not for the worse. A perfect example of what I mean is Hummingbird. This song is about a guy who is promising that this love will go far. He promises. And his word is all she has to go by, and she doesn't need to be worried. Now I really like this song. But it's not what Me and my Uke did for me. It's different and nice. But it's not amazing. Like Did It Hurt. But one of his songs that sound very similar to his old sound is On The Brightside. This song is about a guy (the narrator) who is confused about life. But he meets two unfortunate men that have it so much harder than he does. So he looks on the brightside and realizes that he is fortunate and average, and really shouldn't be so confused. Just take life how it is. In some of the songs on his EP he sounds SO MAD. But other songs on The Summer EP are so lovey-dovey. But this song is his old sound that I have learned to love and appreciate. So all in all, this is an amazing. And if I was to recommend some songs from this artist from the ones that I pointed out in this post I would recommend On The Brightside and Did It Hurt? Check them out on Youtube or something. Please for ME! And comment with your opinion. Thanks! :)

I'm probably going to be coolest dork you'll ever meet. :D

  1. Ooh...those piercings look painful...
I guess the music is ok, but I'm not so crazy about it. I guess it's not horrible, either, though.
